Dr. Chandra Bondugula is an AI researcher and senior healthcare executive with over 25 years of combined experience in patient care, healthcare operations, Graduate Medical Education, healthcare informatics, healthcare innovation, and AI.
Dr. Bondugula is the founding ACGME Designated Institutional Official (DIO) for two graduate medical education institutions and the chairman of the graduate medical education committee (GMEC).
He is passionate about transforming healthcare delivery and education through cutting-edge technology and value-based care. Dr. Bondugula empowers future physicians by integrating AI into medical training, improving quality, and reducing costs—shaping the future of healthcare.
As a senior healthcare leader, he led the day-to-day hospital operations and engaged medical staff and operations teams in achieving process improvement, health IT implementation, and adoption. In addition, Dr. Bondugula led the internal medicine co-management value-based program for three consecutive years, improving quality and decreasing the cost of care.
Dr. Bondugula is a guest faculty at the Boise State University Value-Based Care and Population Health Program, where he teaches topics such as value-based care, health economics, healthcare administration, and leadership.

Dr. Chandra Bondugula is the Founding ACGME Designated Institutional Official (DIO) at WellStone, North Alabama’s largest behavioral healthcare provider. He was instrumental in obtaining ACGME accreditation, paving the way for the psychiatry residency program at WellStone.
Dr. Bondugula serves on the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), Alabama Chapter boards, contributing to its mission. ACHE of Alabama, the official state chapter of ACHE, focuses on providing continuing education, networking opportunities, and supporting members in advancing to Fellow status.
As a dedicated volunteer with the Alabama Healthcare Executives Forum, Dr. Bondugula has actively participated in numerous webinars and podcasts hosted by ACHE. Additionally, he has shared his expertise through guest lectures on key healthcare topics, including price transparency, quality, patient safety, and leadership.
